Lets explore Cabo Girão Skywal, with 580m the highest cliff skywalk in Europe. We start at the Casino in Funchal and then drive up to the viewpoint where a huge glass platform, called skywalk, has been built. The places offers a stunning view over the fajãs do Rancho and Cabo Girão - small areas of cultivated land at the foot of the cliff, as well as magnificent panoramic views over the ocean and the municipalities of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal. On the way back to Funchal we visit Camara dos Lobos, the first place where João Gonçalves Zarco, the navigator who discovered the island, lived between 1420 and 1424. We make a stroll through the historic centre, visit the Igreja de São Sebastião and Nossa Senhora da Conceição and after you can enjoy typical drinks, such as poncha, and taste gata, a fish caught in the seas of Madeira and dried in the same place.
